Welcome to the Vintage Tap and Swing website. Edinburgh-based dancer Cathy Harrison would like to invite you to join her for some fun classes and workshops. Cathy has been dancing forever, and has experience in tap, jazz and all the main swing dances. From beginner to advanced, you'll find something to suit you here. Enjoy!

Strictly Charleston
Workshop
10th May
Suitable for all levels, join us to learn a fun Solo Charleston routine. Inspired by the crazy dance from the roaring 20s, we’ll show you some wild and wacky moves and you will definitely be smiling from ear to ear as we take on the character of a 1920s Flapper!

How much? £12 (£10 concessions) per person. If also taking part in the Dips, Tricks and Steals Workshop the price for both workshops is £27 (£22 concessions).

Dips, Tricks and Steals
Workshop
10th May
We’ll teach you some fancy pants moves to spice up your swing dancing and enjoy those social dances even more! To get the most out of this workshop, you need to have a good eight beat and six beat footwork base.

How much? £16 (£13 concessions) per person. If also taking part in the Strictly Charleston Workshop the price for both workshops is £27 (£22 concessions).

Lindy Hop - Beginners
Our next block of classes for Beginners will start on 1st May. The classes will be suitable for those with no or little Lindy Hop experience.

Where? North Merchiston Club

When? Thursdays, 7:00-8:30pm.

How much? £60 (£52 concessions) per person for an eight week block (1st May to 19 June).

Lindy Hop -
Improvers/ Intermediate
We teach Lindy Hop classes on Tuesdays suitable for improver/intermediate dancers and above. You must know 8 beat footwork patterns and basic moves such as the Lindy Turn, Swingout, Lindy Circle, Texas Tommy, etc.

Where? North Merchiston Club
When? Tuesdays, 6:00-7:30pm. The next block of classes starts on 6th May 2025.
How much? £30 (£26 concessions) per person for a four week block.

Tap Dance
