Strictly Charleston Workshop

Following up on the success of the May workshop, in a class suitable for all levels, everyone learned another fun Solo Charleston routine at the Pentland Community Centre. We went through some wild and wacky moves and everyone left smiling from ear to ear!
Lindy Hop Workshop - It's The Way That You Do It!

As the song says, 'T'aint What You Do, It's The Way That You Do It.' So, we took some basic Lindy moves and supercharged them trying some new variations. Ahead of the Edinburgh Lindy Exchange we did some cool moves for followers and leaders to help everyone look fabulous on the social dance floor.
Summer Swing

We had a lovely afternoon and evening of dancing in Peebles at the Eastgate Theatre and Art Centre. We taught a two-hour Lindy Hop workshop for beginners in the afternoon. This was followed in the evening with a social dance to live music from the fabulous Biggar Big Band. ​​

At the lovely Pentland Community Centre we did a fun Solo Charleston routine. Some people new to the Charleston came along and were soon taking on the character of a 1920s Flapper! There are some photos in the Gallery.​

We’d been thinking for some time about doing a workshop in which we could teach leading and following skills in more depth. ​We taught some essential skills for improving leading and following, with plenty of practice time included. Everyone went away with some really good exercises to try out and a better understanding of how to communicate with each other more effectively.​
